At the heart of Lesaffre, functional departments provide each day high quality support to all operations teams driving the group’s activities. These departments include human resources, communication, information technology, finance, financial control, marketing and the Group HR department. All of these cross-cutting support functions have a decisive role to play in the company’s overall performance and in the application of our international development strategy.

Example: Comptroller at Lesaffre China

Based at headquarters, an industrial site or a subsidiary, a comptroller’s mission is to design and implement economic and financial procedures and analytical tools for use by the department. These resources are then used to boost the profitability and performance of the Lesaffre business line or company under the comptroller’s responsibility. Working in collaboration with operations managers, comptrollers develop and monitor action plans that target pre-defined strategic orientations.

Rewarding missions

As a key player in terms of organizational control, you are responsible for aligning management methods with the company’s general policies.
Your primary mission consists in defining the monitoring indicators required to help steer Lesaffre China/your business line. You support its growth by optimizing the ratio between invested resources, generated business and end results. You participate in building and tracking budgets and cost control measures.
Your duties bring you into close contact with the Accounting, Sales and Production Departments, for purposes of audits, operational reviews and planning. You are an analytical, forward-looking person, and you measure changes over time and deviations between forecasts and actual sales, identify potential risks, suggest areas for improvement and make recommendations for corrective actions. The different dashboards that you complete and explain give your manager a reliable financial overview of the business over time, acting as business intelligence tools for your markets’ growth prospects in China.

Applicant profile

  • You hold a recognized higher education degree in Finance and Accounting
  • More than 5 years’ experience in a multinational manufacturing environment
  • Ability to operate an ERP system dedicated to manufacturing
  • Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese (Mandarin)
  • Taste for communications, strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with multicultural, multifunctional teams.
  • Pragmatism and solid analytical and organizational skills, driven by the ongoing pursuit of quality and results
