OEnoppia Association setting up: OEnology industrials group together

090623104018-vign-58546

The main oenology industrials have decided to group together within an international association. The founding acts of the Œnoppia Association have been signed in Paris last May the 7th. By this initiative, the nine groups involved in Oenology prove their common will to present both oenological products and treatments as tools for competitiveness and quality wines. Œnoppia members have signed the “Œnoppia Ethical Charter” that lay down the principles of a reasoned Oenology, respectful of the quality of the wines and aware of the particular interests and evolutions of the winegrowing sector.

Œnoppia members : Oenology as a profession
Either oenology generalists or specialists in some specifics industrial areas, the companies that have joined Œnoppia have a profession in common: thinking, producing and distributing oenological products. Their vocation is also to make sure that these techniques are implemented in the cellars. Within the larger scope of oenological practices carried out in wine making, oenological products are designed to bring out the highest qualitative potential of the grape, but also to prevent the wine from different types of defects, and to allow a good stability and preservation of the wine in the bottle. They are well-known technological tools for all the winemakers (yeasts, enzyme, bacteria, fining products, tannins…).

Œnoppia founding members are: AEB (Italy), AGROVIN (Spain), CHR. HANSEN (Denmark), DSM (Holland), ERBSLOH (Germany), ESSECO (Italy), LAFFORT (France), LALLEMAND (Canada) and LESAFFRE (France).

These groups operate in almost all of the wine-producing countries, both traditional and emerging, which represent more than 55 countries. This global vision of every market is certainly the best mean to be aware of both technical needs and new tendencies.

Œnoppia goal : to participate to the evolution of oenological practices
Œnoppia founding members wish to become a new partner of the institutions already involved in the evolution of oenological practices, in order to contribute to innovation and progress. They also want to assure the industrial feasibility of oenological products and guarantee satisfying conditions for the introduction of these products in the market. Œnoppia goal is also to contribute to the spread of both scientific and technical information.

Œnoppia Philosophy : Ethical and reasoned oenology
The companies that have joined the association are inspired by the adoption of an Ethical chart for the respect of regulations but also the reasoned used of oenological products. Nowadays, both food safety and environment are considered as fundamentals factors leading to the development and implementation of oenological products. The third axis consists in encouraging economic competition through the use of oenological products, which contributes to developing quality over international markets. One of Œnoppia’s major mission will be to promote the information about nature and oenological products potential, through educational tools.
