The Center of excellence Analytical Sciences & Discovery mission is to determine and understand the molecular composition of matter to support research through the acquisition of safe, long-lasting physicochemical data to pave the way for innovations: molecules of interest, new processes and products.

In order to strength the Center of Excellence Analytical Sciences and Discovery, we are looking for a Head of Operations Metabolomics, Proteomics and Discovery.

As our Head of Operations Omics, you pilot the operation of the technical platform (4 scientists), in its human and technical dimensions. You have a global vision of the platform and its evolution. You ensure the optimal operation of our platform to answer our scientific issues.

You will report directly to the Director of the Center of Excellence Analytical Sciences and Discovery.

Main Missions:

You lead and develop metabolomics and proteomics activities :

  • You manage, animate and develop the team,  
  • You are responsible for excellence in execution and ensure that the facility is providing the highest level of expertise and service to meet group challenges and has access to state-of-the-art methodologies
    • Responsible of HR-LC/MS park and it’s evolution
    • Responsible for data treatment methodologies and data analysis
    • Take profit from multi competence environment to develop analysis pipelines and multiomic integration strategy
    • Communicate directly with researchers and provide consultation and guidance in experimental design and data analysis

You are involved in scientific projects: Interacts directly with investigators, providing consultation guidance, and technical support for related research projects.

Qualifications

  • PhD and experience in metabolomics and proteomics. Experience in applying the technique to cutting edge biological problems, especially system biology studies, and evidence for successful and relevant scientific collaborations. Extensive knowledge of procedures for the identification and quantification of proteins and metabolites is essential as well as extensive knowledge for biomarker identification.
  • Experience in HR LC/MS is mandatory, experience in NMR will be a plus
  • Experience of team leadership, including motivation of staff, performance management, employee development and delegation.
  • Work in an interdisciplinary environment, collaborating with computational scientists to meet proteomics and metabolomics analysis needs, and be able to provide evidence of initiating and sustaining collaborations with other research groups across a range of disciplines on biology (multiomics integration, machine learning, biomarker identification…)
