What you bring to the table 

As our Sales Director of North America, you’ll be the driving force behind Procelys’ growth ambitions in North America. Leveraging your proven track record of commercializing B2B products, you’ll lead a team dedicated to delivering top-line sales targets by persistently focusing on the evolving needs of our fermentation industry customers.

Whether you’re visiting clients alongside your team or directly managing key accounts, your ability to foster deep, collaborative partnerships will be instrumental. Utilizing our CRM platform, you’ll maintain forecast accuracy, initiate co-creation projects, and deliver exceptional customer experiences that position Procelys as an indispensable partner.

As an expert in the fermentation industry, you’ll provide strategic guidance to our global Biotechnology & Life Science Division, translating customer insights into innovative solutions that drive productivity and growth for our customers. Responsibilities as the Sales Director of Procelys include:

  • Knowing Your Customers
  • Delivering revenues according to the budget
  • Improving forecast accuracy
  • Lead the budgeting process for North America
  • Formalizing agreements with customers
  • Initiating co-creation projects with customers
  • Preparing monthly reporting scorecards (both financial as well as on customer centricity) and provide recommendations
  • Ensuring 100% adoption by your team of our CRM platform (Salesforce), which includes capturing competitive intelligence
  • Articulating your specific needs from other parts of the organization (e.g. Marketing) to ensure your team is set up for success e.g. technical sell sheet

Required qualifications:  

  • A Bachelor’s degree in scientific or engineering studies, (ideally within biochemical engineering, biotechnology, or bioprocessing) is required
  • 12 or more years of experience selling B2B product to the fermentation industry in North America (biotechnology, bi-ingredients, biopharma, food, feed), responsible for revenues in double-digits
  • 6 or more years of managing a team of regional sales managers, key account managers, and new business development managers is required
  • 6 or more years of experience working for a multinational organization with over $1B in revenue is required
  • Significant experience with business development, leading the commercial launch of new products, and initiating co-creation projects with customers are all requirements
  • Proficiency with SAP, Microsoft Office products, Power BI, Salesforce, and SharePoint are all required
  • The ability to accommodate 50% travel, mostly within North America with quarterly trips overseas

Preferred qualifications: 

  • MBA is preferred but not required
  • Bilingual capabilities are a plus, preferably Spanish or French
