What will your daily life look like?

In the context of the launch of an ambitious program to foster the use and valorization of data across the company, Lesaffre International seeks to accelerate and structure its data delivery capabilities and competences.

Reporting to the Group digital & data coordinator, the Group Data Architect is a senior doer and management position at the crossroad of digital, data, IT and business teams, playing a central role in the definition and fast-paced execution of Lesaffre group data strategy.

 

Main responsibilities

 

The Group Data Architect supports the data strategy & use case framing/selection activities:

●        Lead the data architecture strategy and implementation

●        Define, implement, and maintain a robust and efficient data stack that collects, stores, and processes data, focusing on scalability, reliability, and costs

●        Assist business and data teams to frame and assess Data Use Cases (DUCs) technical feasibility

●        Ensure alignment with group IT practices (CTO, MDM, CRM, and ERP leaders), with a specific focus regarding security

 

The Group Data Architect supports the development and industrialization of Data Use Cases:

●        Support use case teams to design and develop the adequate technological solution

●        Define, implement, and maintain data ingestion flows for the DUCs

●        Centralize all data access requests for the Data Stack and closely collaborate with global and local IT stakeholders to implement related data flows

●        Translate business requirements into technical specifications

●        Assist business and data teams to develop DUCs on the data stack, including by coding required features

●        Act as technological leader for data engineer

 

The Group Data Architect plays an active role in the overall data transformation of Lesaffre Group:

●        Define and diffuse best practices for data engineering/architecture

●        Ensure a proper data architecture governance group-wide

●        Play a key role in terms of data management for the data stack scope, overviewing and providing all required information regarding data availability and data quality

●        Research new technologies to determine which ones should be considered to improve the data stack

●        Participate to RFPs and manage relations with suppliers (IaaS, PaaS and/or SaaS)

Experience

●        Master’s degree in engineering, science, computer science, computer engineering

●        At least 6 years of experience on relevant roles (software/data engineer, tech lead, data architect, CTO)

●        Hands-on experience with implementing data products and software engineering

 

Technical skills

●        Infrastructure and deployment:

○        Good knowledge of at least one Cloud provider (e.g., AWS, Azure, OVH, GCP), with experience in designing Cloud-based Data Lakes

○        Good knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and Cloud infrastructure tools (e.g., OpenStack, AWS CloudFormation)

○        Knowledge of PaaS technologies for Machine Learning (e.g., Dataiku, Domino, Databricks, etc.)

○        Knowledge of the common CI / CD tools (e.g., Travis, Jenkins)

●        Data products and software development:

○        Good experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining data products using collaborative tools (e.g., git)

○        Good programming experience with Python and related data science packages (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn)

○        Good knowledge of data structures (e.g., arrays, stacks, queues, hash tables, trees, heaps) and common algorithms (e.g., sorting, searching, hashing)

○        Experience with data quality processes

○        Basic experience with ETL systems, business systems (ERPs, CRMs), industrial systems (e.g., MES, SCADA, Edge computing)

○        Basic knowledge of machine learning and optimization algorithms in production

●        Database and storage:

○        Experience in data storage and data modeling

○        Experience with at least one SQL database (e.g., MySQL, Oracle) with great understanding of query execution plans

○        Experience with at least one NoSQL database (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra)

 

Other skills

●        Very good interpersonal skills

●        Business oriented and strong problem-solving skills

●        Demonstrated ability to interact with a vast variety of stakeholders: business, developers, data scientists, data managers, etc.

●        Full English proficiency. French proficiency is a plus.
