What will your daily life look like?

• You will be responsible for both process projects (60%) and Lean projects (40%)

• In collaboration and consultation with the various production departments, you will lead and coach various projects from A to Z. This includes the following:
o analyzing and supervising improvement projects in the field of raw materials, product quality and cost management in order to increase efficiency without sacrificing safety, hygiene, environmental and quality requirements.
o optimizing the production facilities and improving the production processes;
o examples of projects are: developing a statistical model to optimize the quality of the yeast, maximizing output, drawing up a cost reduction program,….

• You are called in in case of acute problems and proactively look for improvements to take the production department to a higher level.

• You develop and manage a documentation structure with regard to the aforementioned projects and processes

• You coordinate / launch Lean initiatives (OEE analyzes and optimization, 5S implementation, 1st line maintenance, RCA, SMED analyzes,…).

• You are responsible for training the staff with regard to the Lean principles and practical applications in the workplace. You also act as a coach to guarantee a good knowledge transfer between the different departments.

• You assist the managers in stimulating improvement projects in the workplace

• You use your scientific and technical knowledge to realize these goals together with production. You report to the Technical Director

• You are able to replace the heads of the production departments in case of absence.

• You have an engineering degree and are passionate about nutrition.
• You have 3 years of experience in a production environment, preferably in the food sector
• You have a strong affinity and / or interest in production, machinery and technology.
• You have a feeling for safe working
• Knowledge of Lean philosophy and experience in implementing Lean tools or Lean program is a plus
• You live or are willing to settle in the Ghent region.
• You are a good communicator.
• You are fluent in trilingual: Dutch, French and English.
• You are innovative, a co-thinker and a process-oriented person
