Job description

KEY RESPONSABILITIES 

• Ensures compliance with all current regulations in terms of equipment and facility by planning controls and inspections promoting a safe working environment

• Review and implement procedures and standards to improve safety, quality and productivity

• Ensures compliance with internal rules in terms of ethics, inclusion and collaboration

• Coordinates assigned projects and ensures compliance with deadlines, costs and quality of work

• Review and approve changes related to equipment, piping, electrical parts etc. tracking changes in terms of updating drawings, maintenance plans and ensures alignment with the internal quality system

• Proposes, reviews and manages the relevant annual budget

• Ensures the maintenance of the structure and of the different buildings and supervises the maintenance of the systems in cooperation with the team

• Manages the relevant audits

• Prepares reports relating to maintenance activities, utilities management and identifies improvement areas on which to intervene by applying lean methodologies

• Dedicated to the continuous improvement of processes with particular attention to the implementation of lean tools (visual management, SPC, TPM, Kaizen etc.)

• Supports manufacturing activities ensuring timely interventions, but in total safety, following the necessary priorities agreed with the function managers.

• Guarantees the presence of critical spare parts

• Pushes for the search and resolution of the root causes that generate problems

• Collaborates with the Corporate Engineering Manager and the Plant Director in defining the annual investment budget

• Carries out feasibility studies and cost estimates, plans activities, develops basic engineering and coordinates detailed engineering; guarantees the correct execution of the works in the field, in compliance with the company standards of quality and safety and in compliance with environmental legislation, managing investment priorities

• Prepares and coordinates the ordinary and extraordinary maintenance program for both equipment and buildings, managing intervention priorities

• Maintains up-to-date technical documentation and supports functions for preparing documentation for submission to authorities

• Manages the relationship with public bodies as regards obtaining and maintaining technical authorisations

• Guarantees knowledge and constant updating on the best technologies available in relation to technical standards and local and international regulations applicable to company plants

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS 

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent

·       Extensive knowledge of engineering practices mechanical power transmission, electrical power, mechanical and electrical design, layout fabrication, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and whole-facility maintenance

·       Experience with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting techniques

·       Excellent analytical skills including the ability to analyze, troubleshoot, process, change and improve design and equipment

·       Familiar with Swiss legislative requirements

·       Six Sigma green belt preferred

·       Written and verbal communication skills

·       Decision-making, problem-solving and organizational skills

·       Ability to lead a team and work jointly across departments
