Job description

Our mission: Build and operate the first integrated industrial biofoundry in France to deliver to Lesaffre’s Mission of Working together to better nourish and protect the planet

Your mission?

·         Developing automated experimental workflows for biological screenings, genetic engineering and synthetic biology assays, protocols, unit operations and processes, strain cultivation, sample preparation, and multi-omics analysis

·         Writing new software to drive operation of laboratory instruments and robotics as well as operating existing commercial automation software

·         Validating and QC'ing automated screening and synthetic biology protocols

·         Writing software for data acquisition, manipulation, archiving, retrieval, and processing

·         Operating automation equipment with biologists

·         Training automation users in the Screening, Enzymology, Genetics and Metabolic engineering teams on workflows design, programming and automation best practices

·         Supporting and maintaining automation hardware

·         Designing and building integrated automation infrastructure, including workcells for executing high-throughput processes, as well as flexible distributed automation tooling

 

Qualifications

·         BS or MS in engineering, mechanical engineering, bioengineering or equivalent

·         Multiyear industrial experience with laboratory automation systems and experimental workflow development

·         Software development know-how, especially pertaining to hardware control, sample data manipulations, interfacing with LIMS and SQL databases

·         Practical knowledge of high-throughput biological screening and synthesis processes

·         Experience in hardware development, integration, and testing
